She has carved out a niche for herself in the hearts of the audiences with the character portrayal of Jassi in the much popular serial Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin. She was born on October 8 and lives along with her parents in Lokhandwala, which is situated in Mumbai. Her father was in the army and his last posting was in Pune. Her elder sister lives in New Zealand. She is not yet married but dating Karan Oberoi. Since childhood Mona Singh desired to be an actress. She used to enact scenes from serials and films in front of her family and never thought in her wildest dreams also that she would land up with the lead role in a serial. Mona Singh played the main female protagonist in the television serial Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin. It all happened by sheer coincidence. Someone gave her the number of Deeya Singh and she fixed up an appointment to meet her. When she met Deeya in her office she almost tripped and fell and instantly the thought struck her that all her chances her ruled out. To her utmost surprise she was called for an audition within a span of one month. After just two auditions she was selected to play Jassi. It is a nice, simple story, which is never attempted before, even remotely. Jassi Jaissi Koi NahinAs far as her get-up and body language goes she never had to do any homework. In spite of not having any formal training in acting she has portrayed the role to the best of her abilities and became a household name. She was also indebted to her senior actors for the brilliant performances, which she gave on-screen. Her role has a plethora of shades and emotions and she feels very happy about the fact that she can relate to her character so well. According to her the content of the show also helped in boosting the popularity of the serial. In the year 2006 she also participated in the celebrity dance show Jhhalak Dikhhlaja and bagged the winning crown. In November 2006, she also took part in an Aids Event and in the same year she also went for a world tour with a number of actors performing to popular numbers. In the following year Sony Television signed her as their brand ambassador for a span of 13 months. The very next show of hers, which will be aired on television, is Extreme Makeover. She also hosted the Femina Miss India 2007 along with Sajod Khan. In the span of last few years she endorsed few popular brands. She also has aspirations to appear in films but has not given a serious thought about it still now. Her fans want to see this simple and talented actress rise to great heights in the years to come with her acting prowess and simple demeanor.

She played the central role of Jassi in the popular television serial Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin. In 2006, she was the winner of the show Jhalak Dhikhhla Jaa on Sony Entertainment Television. She announced to make movies sometime in the future,[2] one of them with Bobby Pushkarna.[3] In November 2006, she also participated in an Aids Event [4].

In March 2007, she signed an exclusive contract with Sony Entertainment Television to be brand ambassador for the channel for a period of 13 months.[5] In June 2006, she is expected to leave on a world tour with a number of other actors, performing to popular songs.[6] Her next show on TV will be Extreme Makeover. [6] and currently she is hosting Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 3 on Sony and extra shots on Set Max comes every Saturday. She has also been ambassador for various brands.[7]
